El trabajo de Enrique Hernández (Guadalajara, MX, 1975) es una práctica en los límites de la pintura y el dibujo, parte de archivos visuales tanto propios como encontrados. Sus referencias visuales provienen de la música, la literatura, el cine, la arquitectura y la misma historia del arte. El artista sabe de los efectos de la memoria y como ésta reconfigura nuestra percepción. Recorta y distorsiona para crear nuevas composiciones, en las que el palimpsesto y sedimentación no están exentas, generando un glosario visual con una carga de subjetividades.

Aborda la pintura desde la multiplicidad de posiciones en torno a lo que constituye hoy una imagen pictórica; cuestionamientos ligados al proceso de su práctica. Propone un análisis del conocimiento y el lenguaje visual, examinando la forma en que nos involucramos y consumimos las imágenes; cuestionando nuestra creación del mundo a través del simulacro desde la economía de la imagen actual, y la manera en que éstas repercuten en la historia y la cultura. El artista abre preguntas fundamentales sobre la naturaleza de la representación.

The work of Enrique Hernandez (Guadalajara, MX, 1975) is a practice on the limits of painting and drawing, that starts from his own or found visual archives. His visual references come from music, literature, cinema, architecture and art history. The artist knows the effects of memory and how it constitutes our perception. He cuts and distorts to create new compositions, where the palimpsest and sedimentation aren't exempt, generating a visual glossary that is subjective.

He approaches painting from the multiplicity of positions around what constitutes today a pictorial image; questionings linked to its own process. He proposes an analysis of knowledge and visual language, examining the form in which we get involved and how we consume images; questioning our creation of the world through simulation of the constituents of the actual image, and the way it influences history and culture.
